Virtual Summer School for Elementary

and Middle Schoolers

Partner: Achievement First

Project Details

Achievement First is a chain of 41 non-profit, high-performing K-12 public charter schools in Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island striving to make long-lasting and transformative change. To help address summer learning loss in primary and secondary schools, 4-CT worked with Achievement First charter schools in Connecticut as they launched their first virtual summer program for students in grades three through eight. Done in partnership with the National Summer School Initiative (NSSI), the five-week remote summer program aimed to mitigate the academic achievement between middle-class and low-income students that experts predict distance learning could exacerbate as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
