Combating Hunger in the State’s

Hardest-to-Reach Places

Partner: Salvation Army of Southern New England

Project Details

The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services department has provided an initial presence on the ground for hunger emergencies for decades. With Connecticut residents losing hours from their employers or being laid off due to COVID-19, 4-CT was proud to partner with the Salvation Army to expand the campaign to limit food insecurity across the state. The majority of meals distributed went to small, often volunteer-run pantries in counties such as Windham and New London, which have the highest child food insecurity rates in the state.
